The new inductees for Academy for Teacher Education Excellence at 体育菠菜大平台 today are Kipp Petersen and Brett Kluever. This award is given to individuals each year who have made outstanding contributions to the preparation of new teachers and the field of education

Brett Kluever, has been teaching in the Gibbons Public schools since 2009. He enthusiastically hosts our math field experience students and mentors our student teachers on a yearly basis. One student teacher commented, Mr. Kluever runs a very organized classroom. I learned so much about classroom management! He expects success from all of his students!” Brett is a new member of the 体育菠菜大平台 Advisory Council for Teacher Education and he played a key role in our CAEP Accreditation this past year – deep appreciation. He’s now enrolled in the 体育菠菜大平台 Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, a BA and soon to be MA alum!

Kipp Petersen, has been the principal at Horizon Middle School in Kearney for the past 15 years, and in service to education for over 35 years. He comes from a counseling background, which is evident in his calm, quiet, and supportive demeanor. A colleague said, “Kipp is always willing to visit with teacher candidates who might be struggling and help them regain their enthusiasm for teaching.” Another commented, “Kipp is a visionary and one hundred percent committed to whatever endeavor he undertakes.  He is compassionate, caring and very student centered.” He continually finds placements for our student teachers, making room at the last moment. He has been a long standing member of the 体育菠菜大平台 Advisory Council for Teacher Education – his input is invaluable.
